Our Story
Our mission is to provide our customers with high-quality, natural skin care and hair oils that are gentle, effective, and inspired by the rich beauty traditions from around the world
I started Bantu Essentials, in my kitchen back in 2018.After being raised in Zimbabwe were we had to cut our hair growing up, long natural hair was sort of a myth or only possible with chemical relaxers.
After moving to America I decided to go natural, and stopped chemically treating my hair, however I was not consistent. It is only after I had my 2 daughters with Afro hair from both me and my husbands Zimbabwean roots that I started taking haircare seriously.
I noticed that as I leaned more on herbal and natural oils, their hair improved and went from thin and short to voluminous and long.
I found myself more conscious of my attitudes and conversations around our Bantu skin and hair. Much of our hair and skin conversation is clouded with negativity and frustration due to hair breakage, stagnant 4C hair growth , hyperpigmentation, dry skin to mention but a few. This motivated me to want to share what works for our hair and skin and help others take joy in their God given natural beauty.
My aim is that Bantu Essentials will be a conscious company dedicated to empowering black women young and old to embrace their natural beauty. I hope to empower girls to love taking care of their coily curls and for Bantu mothers to celebrate Bantu beauty and culture
My products have taken years of research and trials which gives me confidence in their performance. I do not skimp on luxurious quality ingredients that are nourishing to your hair skin.
I look forward to hearing how Bantu Essentials products have not only positively impacted your hair and skin but also your appreciation for how God created you.
